E Ink’s Matrix EPD prototype for those who wants to make their own e-book

by anoop

E Ink’s AM200 Electronic Paper Display Prototype Kit is for DIYers who wants to make their own e-book. This kit comes along with a glass based active matrix display with Vizplex imaging film, a Metronome Display controller and all the hardware and software needed. It supports a variety of displays like 5, 6, 8 and 9.7 inches and weighs only 150 grams. It is just 7.2 mm thick and includes 2 Li-ion batteries and charger. You could probably design one for yourself, and if you have the money or get a good investor, you could be probably giving competition to Kindle.
