Cycle away with an iPad on your back

by Gareth Mankoo

The iPad, the newest fruit from the Apple tree has created quite a juicy buzz around. It’s no wonder people are finding more and more ways to put this tablet to use. Long gone are the days when tablet PCs sat on your table or lap and performed the usual stuff a computer does. Apple’s tablet works as turning signals too!

This sure is weird and extraordinary. A few people around have been strapping their new iPads to their backs with wearable sleeves called iPad Sprocket Pockets. Using applications, the iPad turns into a signaling device for bicyclists. Lean back, and the stop sign is displayed, while a right lean displays a right turning arrow, signaling motorists behind what the cyclist intends to do. I’d rather buy a set of LED turn-signals powered by a dynamo and leave the iPad for real work.
