Corning’s Gorilla Glass 2 to show up on devices by May 2012

The Corning Gorilla Glass has been protecting devices from the wrath of butter fingers since quite a while now. Up ahead in May, Corning’s newest rendition of this powerfully strong glass, the Gorilla Glass 2, will show up on devices. The second generation glass is about 20% thinner than its predecessor, and continues to ensure protection with the same strength of the original. Also, the new Gorilla Glass 2 will enable slimmer devices with brighter images and better touch sensitivity. Currently being used by 300 major technology brands, the Gorilla Glass has been used in 600 devices worldwide, with 600 million units sold until date around the globe.
