China unveils the $16 million Ring of Life
by Gavril MankooNot every architectural structure on earth is practical. We’ve come across some that are extremely eye-catchy, but well, do nothing! Take China’s most recent inclusion on its horizon, the 515 feet tall Ring of Life. A massive structure replicating a ring and located in the northeastern city of Fushun, the Ring of Life is as expensive as it is beautiful and useless.
Termed as “landscape architecture”, the structure is made of 3,000 tons of steel and includes 12,000 LED lights. All of that has burned a $16 million hole in China’s pocket. the country does seem pretty well pleased with its latest architectural wonder however and if you’d ask us, price apart, the Ring of Life is indeed something we’d spend sunsets staring at!
