Canon unveils new mirrorless EOS M 18-megapixel camera
It’s been raining cameras lately and we’ve taken a solemn oath to keep shutterbugs updated with the latest releases that have been showing up these days. The newest aboard the mirrorless brigade is Canon’s brainchild, the EOS M that rests heavily on the company’s current mid-range DSLR range. Sporting an 18-megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor, DIGIC 5 processor, 3-inch 1.04MP smudge-resistant touchscreen and a hybrid autofocus system, this one comes with an EF-M 22mm f/2 STM kit lens included also, the new EOS M skips the use of an electronic viewfinder and comes with a full-size hot-shoe. With the EOS M kit priced at $800, Canon also has on offer an EF-M 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM lens for $300 and an EF-EOS M mount adapter for $200 with the camera itself scheduled to ship in October.
