Buffalo Wi-Fi unit for gamers – Just one for all
by Dhiram Shah
Finally a wireless access point only for gamers, here is the WCA-G from Buffalo Japan. It features the company’s proprietary AOSS (AirStation OneTouch Secure System) technology which establishes a secure Wi-Fi connection at the push of a button. Majority of the gaming consoles including the 60GB Playstation 3, Nintendo DS and the Sony PSP support this technology, thus you can connect to these consoles without going through settings hell. A small LCD shows the status of the connection and the AOSS setting. The unit supports IEEE802.11b/g and WPA-PSK (TKIP/AES) with WEP (128/64bit).
The Buffalo WCA-G measures 100mm×101mm×20mm, weighs 125 grams and comes with a stand. The unit goes on sale in Japan from August for 8,700 Yen ($ 71).
Would be great if it actually worked. Comes with no documentation in paper or on their website.
Just bought it, did exactly what it said, and it says “failed” after pressing the 1 button.
Nothing you can do from here.
