CES 2014: Bang & Olufsen BeoSound Essence one-touch wall-mounted control music system

by Gareth Mankoo

Bang & Olufsen have made their presence known at this year’s CES with the BeoSound Essence music system. Simplistic and minimalist is the approach they have taken in designing this cool wall-mounted aluminium controller. It comes along with a separate box unit. It was presented by Tue Mantoni, the company’s CEO, and was introduced it as a single touch controlled system. The rotational dial on the controller can be used to adjust volume where as the 4-way directional pad is used to toggle between tracks. The separate box that comes along handles the various audio formats, including DLNA-compatibility.

As it is apparent, the box unit is pretty much designed to be hidden away and does now show off the usual splendor of B&O styling. The company will soon ship its own BeoMusic app to support DLNA, internet radio and all available sources, soon. The BeoSound Essence will be available this Spring for $995.
