Apple’s iPad Pro offers so much more than the iPad 2

by Gareth Mankoo

Stepping into the ring with all the accolades necessary and a giant 12.9-inch display and a resolution of 2732 x 2048 pixels is Apple’s “biggest news in iPad since the iPad” (in Tim Cook’s words). The iPad Pro offers a whirlwind of amazing features in addition to the 4:3 display. The size of the Pro is so big that the onscreen keyboard is compared to that of a regular laptop keyboard. The company believes that the larger size will do justice to the many features that iOS 9 has to offer. You can also leverage the screen to view apps side by side thanks to the split view. In addition to the interface, the tablet also offers fours speakers up front. The A9X SoC powers the iPad Pro, beating the iPad Air 2’s efficiency and graphics by nearly twice the awesomeness. The device comes with TouchID built into the home button, a battery that lasts 10 hours and an unannounced specification of RAM, which we expect to be 2GB.

Other features include the 8-megapixel iSight camera at the back and a 1.2-megapixel front facing camera. The iPad Pro will be priced from $799 for a 32GB Wi-Fi model to $949 for an LTE 128GB one. There are a number of accessories in tow as well. It will be available in silver, gold and space grey colors.
