Apple TV to unlock Bluetooth Keyboard support with update
by Gareth MankooThe next generation Apple TV has been touted to include Bluetooth Keyboard pairing in its next avatar, as per rumors. This however holds a more concrete ground now as 9to5Mac has reported that an iOS update will enable the same, shortly. This will greatly simplify text input for those who use the TV and will not require them to peer into the large screen from a near-off distance. The beta currently allows users to pair a Bluetooth keyboard to a 2nd or 3rd generation Apple TV. This spells independence from the included remote or an iOS device.
You can further use the keyboard to navigate, with the help of the arrow keys or toggle playback with the Enter key. The escape key doubles up as the “menu” or up “one level” button. We hope to see other Bluetooth device support on the Apple TV and even Siri wouldn’t be too bad. Last year, it was revealed that Apple may have been working on offering Bluetooth keyboard pairing with the second-generation Apple TV.
