Android-controlled JVC Everio camcorders arrive in Japan

by Gareth Mankoo

It looks like JVC is planning some interesting line-up treat for us. This time it’s camcorders and none other than the Everio line, with five new models in tow. Two of these, namely the 16GB GZ-EX350 and 32GB GZ-EX370, will come with a remote control. How this works is the camcorders make use of Wi-Fi to connect with any nearby Android device, via Wi-Fi Direct. The 8GB GZ-E325 and 16GB GZ-E345 models will not be connected and will feature a highlight mode, smile recognition and tagged scenes. On the bottom rung sits the entry-level GZ-E320 that will arrive sans the highlight mode.

All three cameras show off 40x optical zoom and can capture videos in their full 1080p essence, thanks to the BSI CMOS sensor within. They will all support SDXC cards and a 3-inch touchscreen display. There is no word on these reaching States side but you can never tell with CES is around the corner.
