# 25m diameter, 46m length, weight 7000tonnes
# a total of 100 million channels, connected with 3000 km of cables
# the inner detector is a 80 megapixel digital camera with an area of 1.7m2
# floor of the cavern moves about 0.5 mm upwards each year
# data will be recorded at 320MB/s, 200000 times less than the full amount produced
# combined effort of 164 institutions from 35 countries
