100,000 LED Fireflies light up the Tokyo river
Since the past year, on the 25th of May residents of the Japanese capital celebrate ‘Tokyo Firefly’. Where the participants bring tiny orbs of LED lights with each of them containing a solar panel and a rechargeable battery. the Orbs are called Wishing stars and they are left to gently float in the Sumida River. Around 100,000 of the floating orbs make up for a beautiful sight as they diffuse soft light in the dark water.
The Orbs are supplied by Panasonic which serves the company as a platform to market its Evolta range of rechargeable batteries.
