Accentuating this vision of purity is crisp cut-out transparent GLK lettering, lavishly trimmed with the aforementioned crystallized Swarovski Elements. Fujifilm's new digital camera is cool enough for us anyway, so I guess they dont need to scream from the rooftops that there is a social network / marketing campaign attached to it. So, here is the dope on what exactly does the campagin do and does it really help. I think not. Fujifilm on thursday launched ZSpotNow.com, a site constructed using the social networking tool Ning. ZSpotNow is ostensibly a community for owners of the Fujifilm FinePix Z20 digital camera, but Fujifilm is using it to promote a series of events like a pro skating competition, a Z20-logo designing contest, and a video-making contest asking members to record clips of themselves speaking about trends in fashion and technology (??). ]]>
<![CDATA[I dunno how do the winners benefit but before you get too excited with the social networking and marketing crap lets pour in the details like this camera barely has anything to do with the web site, forget that, it can't even connect to the internet. The Z20 does have some social networking capabilities which means you can exchange photos wirelessly within five feet of each other, and the camera features a button to convert movies into smaller sizes for easy blog posting, that's what they mean when they say social networking. So if that just broke your heart we are truly sorry!

The buzz is that Amazon plans on bringing out its Amazon Video on Demand service pretty soon. Apparently the service will allow customers to access and immediately begin streaming any of 40,000 movies and television programs directly from their Mac of Windows PC. "For the first time, this is drop dead simple," said Bill Carr, Amazon's vice president for digital media. "Our goal is to create an immersive experience where people can't help but get caught up in how exciting it is to simply watch a movie right from Amazon.com with a click of the button." This new service will be different from Apple's iTunes video services and Amazon's earlier Unbox. It will let customers purchase and begin watching movies or TV shows without having to actually download the video file to a hard drive. This move makes the service more compatible with a number of devices. Keeping this sentiment, Amazon has teamed with Sony Electronics to place its new video service on Sony's Bravia line of high-definition TVs.]]>
To begin with, Amazon Video on Demand service will be accessible through the Sony Bravia Internet Video link, a $300 accessory that allows the flagship line of Bravia HDTVs to connect to a world of Internet videos. But ultimately the future Bravia sets will come with the capability built in allowing customers to access alternative media through the new Amazon service right out of the box.

Carr said Amazon will seek to strike similar deals with other HDTV manufacturers and video device makers.

Amazon says it will store video purchases in a video library so that customers can then watch that show or movie whenever they return to Amazon.com, even if it is from a different computer or portable device.

"I can be at my office, purchase a movie, and then it will be available on my television at home," Robert Jacobs, a senior manager at Sony Electronics, told the Times "Creating this on-demand available-everywhere access to premium content is going to be very attractive to consumers."

It's bad enough that lack of memory bogs an Alzheimer Patient, but keeping track of them can takes its toll on the minders. Spanish company Keruve has come out with a GPS device, which can be worn like a bracelet, to keep a tab on Alzheimer's patients. The system is made up of a special bracelet and a PSP like handheld device that indicates the location of the person wearing the bracelet. The bracelet is water resistant and can only be taken off using a special tool. The bracelet GPS receiver works with GSM1800 and GSM900 networks to broadcast its location to the base unit. The system has a battery life of 3.5 days and should the levels reach low, an alarm sounds off.]]>

With the infinite stories we have heard on cell phone radiation and all the effects of mobile phones it is refreshing to see one phone that actually does good for you. The Fujitsu F884iES is the latest addition to NTTDoCoMo lineup, it is one of the few phones which has health management capability. The clamshell comes with the usual 2 Megapixel camera, Dual color displays, media player, high speed Internet, expandable memory etc but with all these it packs in the 'Health Diary' an application which keeps a close eye on your health. The phone has a built in pedometer which works with the help of 3-axis accelerometers for improved accuracy, so 'every step you take and every move you make' is recorded in the Health Diary. The phone also has a pulsimeter which measures your pulse in a rather unique way. You keep the phone near a bright light source and then place your finger on the secondary camera above the screen, the camera captures the vessel movements in the shadows and using a dedicated algorithm it processes the pulse rate. ]]>

Parties are bad for health. The nicotine, alcohol, dope and loud music all end up damaging our insides in some way or the other. Now in Russia, a new damaging factor has been realized and this time it’s repercussions are a lot more fatal and spontaneous. Health officials in Moscow have blamed the laser show at rave parties for blindness in twelve cases. These findings were the result of a party at Aquamarine Open Air Festival in Kirzhach after which the patients (victims) complained of bad vision and other symptoms of laser blindness. Everyone’s blaming the ‘indoor’ aspect of the party and the use of unlearned technicians handling the lighting.]]>
