Your next cell phone might run on Sun OS

As Java spreads its dominance over all other development platforms for everything from games to Internet applications to desktop softwares, we have to consider its contribution to the field of cellphone programming. And what we have here is something that every Java-head will yelp on hearing about. Sun Microsystems have taken a major step and bought forth their first cellphone based on the Java platform. The phone isn’t actually Sun’s in totality but is their attempt of obtaining SavaJe Technologies, a company that makes Java-based embedded operating system for cellphones. This puts Java in line with other OS platforms including the very notable Microsoft Windows Mobile, Palm devices, Symbian and Mac (iPhone) operating environments

I wouldn’t question the power of Sun when it comes to moves like these. Just, I am glad to hear it.
