Your blood can be used to recharge your iPod

dracula-blood.jpg The other day was Earth Hour and many of us would have switched off the lights and other electrical appliances for one hour. But is that enough? Will we have enough power to switch on and off whenever we like? What if you could just plug in your iPod or your MP3 player around your chest and charge it with your heartbeat! Researchers who are working on piezoelectric nanowires are claiming that your own blood can be used to power small devices like your iPod. Isn’t that eco-friendly? They have also discovered how to use zinc oxide nanowires to generate electricity when subjected to mechanical stress. These nano things will be implanted right under your skin and then the rest would be fairly easy. But don’t expect this technology somewhere in the near future. It is going to take some time.
