A few days since its launch in the US and a group of hackers calling themselves “BluePrint” have released a driver which makes the Xbox 360 HD-DVD drive work with a PC running Windows XP SP2. The driver named as XBOX360.HD-DVDRom.UDF.Reader.v2.5.WindowsXP-BluePrint takes advantage of the Universal Disc Filesystem v2.5 which is used by the Xbox drive as well as Toshiba's HD-DVD players. Getting the hack can be a bit difficult as it is not widely available and you need to browse through Warez and P2P networks. I doubt if this would be illegal unless you start ripping off HD-DVD movies and share them.

Again, these are litreally Toshiba Corp drivers for the file system used with HD-DVD. We did not create these drivers ourselves, so we cannot modify them - Blueprint
