Wooden iPod and accessories made by iLounge reader

wooden-ipod-mini-1.jpg An iLounge reader took an old iPod mini unit and rebuilt it using natural wood and screws and also made matching wooden accessories. Josh from Australia had real guts to experiment this on his first iPod mini and handmade a new case for the device using Australian red cedar, Camphor Laurel for the working Click Wheel, brass plates and brass screws. The design requires no glue and held extensively by the screws except for the Click Wheel which is attached to the sensor with the help of double-sided tape. He also made a new light red cedar case for his iTrip mini and then he gutted his original iPod mini dock, re-encasing the components in a piece of Camphor Laurel wood, with a slightly larger opening to accommodate the dimensions of the wooden mini. Hats off to you Josh for the artistic and brave experiment which came out well.
