Window 7 to be a multi-touch interface

Window-7.jpg Going by the news dished out by Hilton Locke (belonging to Microsoft's Windows Shell team), we can expect the revamped Windows 7 to feature a multi-touch user interface that will be able to handle more input options than the Apple iPhone. According to him, you will be "blown away" by the new Windows Touch Technology. This revelation confirms Microsoft's growing obsession with touch-screen devices. Their Surface table relies on camera sensors to do the needful.

Even Dell has been doing it's bit to get into the multi-touch screen race, they intro'd the Latitude XT tablet which accepts multi-touch inputs without the stylus. However it notes that incorporating the feature in current versions of Windows will need drivers and support from end-user programs to work effectively.     Except that Vista already has these touch features in them. The Microsoft Surface is running Vista. Windows 7 will just have a few additional features.

    I say this simply because the Apple fanatics will claim that MS is stealing their ideas from the iPhone, when in reality the Surface has been in development for over 5 years.
