Willcom Papipo phone for kids

Papipo from Wilicom Japan is the latest cellphone targetted at 7 to 12 year old kids. The bright colored handset comes with removable handsets and every pack comes with three different cover sets. Parents are able to set the phone up such that it can sms and call up only preset numbers. This allows them to control the phone bills by preventing any unwanted calls but also helps in preventing any sort of abuse of the cell phone. The phone uses PHS technology which allows parents to track their kids via email. Just send an email to the carrier and you get the reply with the position. The handset has a 1.5 inch TFT color display with a resolution of 128 x 128 pixels and a 3 Megapixel camera hey its Japan.


The handset is comfortable to handle and has dimensions of 52 × 101 × 29.8 mm and a weight of 100 grams. The 300 mA battery holds sufficient power to take care of a 180 minutes of talk time. Packaged in attractive colorful boxes, the product is expected to retail for 15,000 yen (about a 130 USD).
