Willcom announces the launch of four new phones

Willcom.JPG Little known brand called Willcom has announced the launch of a few updated and new handsets as well as new technologies and services. The list is long featuring four new handsets and some innovative features. Therefore, not wasting any more time let’s get on with it. The first is a slider phone named the Willcom 03 slider phone; this phone features hand painted chat. Hand painted chat allows users of the same phone to chat by actually drawing on the touch screen. The phone also features a unique conference facility called Willcom meeting, which allows up to 7 users to simultaneously talk with each other. He phone will be available by Nov 7, Willcom meeting launches on Nov 4


The Second in the new series is the Willcom LU (WS023T), which is the first Toshiba-designed handset to use Willcom's W-SIM card. LU stands for Luminous You. Featuring a 2.4-inch, 240x320 display and has a 2-megapixel camera that can read QR codes. It will also be capable of infrared communications and can further expand its memory with a microSD card slot in addition to its embedded 2GB of memory. A NetFront browser is included and Java applications supported as well. Priced at approx $455, the handset is available in white, black or pink and due for an early December release.

3rd device is the Willcom WX330J; this phone is waterproof to IPX5/IPX7 standards. The handset has a 2-inch, 240x320 display, a NetFront browser and Java support, as well as an optional IrSimple infrared communications module. The WX330J handset, available only in brown, it will be available on store shelves by November 13th online, priced at approx $386.

Fourth device is the Honey Bee 2 or WX331KC, this device has a 3.1-megapixel camera and a choice of new colors that include white, pink, blue, green, and black. In addition, it has an IrDA port and a newer version of Opera for web browsing. It has an internal memory of 14MB, with another 4MB dedicated for e-mail. The PHS handset with 3G data networks access sports a 2-inch screen with 240x320 resolution and will be available in Japan early in November, costing approx $300.
