Will Windows Vista users be shut out of iPhone fun?

iphone_vista_compatibility.jpg
Earlier this year Windows Vista adopters were in for a rude shock when they found their iPods were not supported by the new OS. Checking at the iPhone requirements posted on various sites it seems Windows Vista again does not make a cut
- Mac: Mac with a USB 2.0 port, Mac OS X 10.4.8 or later
- PC: Windows PC with a USB 2.0 port and Windows XP Home or Professional (Service Pack 2)
(Notice the conspicuous absence of an “or later” in the Windows specs?)

Is this another blow on Window Vista from Apple or an oversight from the tech guys.

The Airport Extreme disk sharing / Bonjour still doesn't support Vista. Since Vista is already on the network, that rules out the Airport Extreme.

Last time I checked, it was usually the duty of the makers of the peripherals to create drivers compatible for a new OS, not the other way around. I own an iMac and five PCs so it doesn't matter to me, but I am sure that it is just a matter of time before there are Vista capable drivers and programs for Apple products, it's not really a "blow on Window Vista."
