Waving your remote could change channels
Flipping the channels of the TV could be an arduous task for the couch potato, but thanks to a new technology flipping a channel could be as easy as waving the remote. For all of us who have wondered what exactly a composer means as he waves his wand while conducting an orchestra, the remote could offer some insights. It works on RF of 3.4 GHz and not infrared, which cures one of the most irritating problems for a couch potato, pointing it right. You can flip through channels by just stroking the remote or by tapping and sliding on the touch pad.
Alps Electric Co. Ltd will build the accelerometer-equipped remote control and shipments will begin in October 2008. The remote will cost you approx US$48.
