Want a new home, designer/architect, Enrico Dini, says just hit ‘print’

3d_printing.jpg Now here’s something that could be really handy for those looking to build a new home. It’s quite a simple process. Design the structure on your computer and just hit ‘Print’. You probably think I’m kidding but I’m not, well not entirely anyways. An Italian designer who also happens to be an architect, Enrico Dini, has deviced an ingenious way to be environmental friendly, save money and save time when it comes to building structures. He’s invented a 3D printer. Using 3D architecture programs on a PC and a specially designed ‘heavy-duty’ printer that uses building materials like sand as the medium, designers will be able to construct 3D models of their designs. According to the inventor, this process is not just cheaper but “four times faster than conventional building”. Of course it’s not like you can actually just print a whole house but it could get there someday.
