Walking chair showcased at RoboJapan 2008

Robotic-spider-seat.jpg This incredible human-toting walker was shown off at Robo Japan 2008, signifying the end for wheel chairs, or maybe it is the beginning for Robo-Arachnophobia treatment center franchises. Based on the body profile, I'm guessing its endurance is minimal, and based on its apparent use of small gear motors; I'm guessing its speed is that of a Daddy Longleg on Xanax. Never the less, this concept will advance in future years into a stair-climbing, shopping-assisting, RoboPolo alternative for the masses, competing with the Segway and other modern personal transports. No doubt, there have been many arachnid robots spotted, but this spider-like robot is different from the rest. There is not much that we have on the four legged spider bot, yet but with legs, a robotic chair might be able to overcome many obstacles such as steep inclines and stairs.

Well you will lose the benefits that a wheel has over legs mainly that you cannot zoom around as you could with wheels.
