VPI Scoutmaster II a super expensive turntable

eso1.jpg Rich Japanese turntable aficionados are in for a treat as the Teac Scoutmaster II is hitting the land of rising sun next month. The turntable comes with a newly designed 300RPM motor housed inside an aluminum housing. Its tonearm has a single point of contact which causes less friction than standard gimbaled designs. The tapered arm tube reduces resonance and standing waves and the internal damping fluid reduces vibration to almost negligible levels. The VPI Scoutmaster II weighs 8.2 kgs and will be available in Japan from mid July for 525,000 Yen ($ 5750).
