Vodafone 360 goes online along with Samsung H1 and M1 launch

vodafone_360_h1_m1.jpg Here’s hoping none of you thought that the new H1 and M1 doesn’t make one cringe and wonder what the deadly virus has to do with Vodafone launching 360. The Vodafone 360 Platform is designed to bring Facebook, Windows Live, Google Contacts Sync, mobile content and software apps to their range of handsets, and the platform will support the majority of Nokia handsets as well as the two new Vodafone 360 branded Samsung Handsets.

The H1 also has a 5-megapixel autofocus camera with flash, 16GB of onboard memory, GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth 2.0 and HSDPA, and measures 58 x 115.9 x 12.9 mm (134g).

The M1, that has 1GB of onboard storage and a microSD slot, together with GPS, Bluetooth 2.0, HSDPA, a 3-megapixel camera and measures 55 x 111 x 13.3 mm (111g). Both support unified address book there’s also integration with various IM clients, mapping with turn-by-turn guidance, GPS tagging for photos, the ability to post and check status updates to various social networks, and synchronization with PCs and Macs.

Nokia, with its Ovi store, RIM, with its BlackBerry App World, and Samsung have all leapt into the applications market. But all these services risk turning the mobile phone operators into little more than providers carrying traffic for other people’s services.
