Video chat made a lot more friendly and closer

6-rounds-video-chat.jpg With video chat distances have cut short so much in this century. Now, with 6rounds, it is going to be even closer, almost tangible. That’s the idea at least with this Israel based company’s plans when they launched 6rounds as they feel there is a demand for a video platform that offers additional layers of fun, social interaction and utility on top of the basics of video conversations. Through this you can co-browse YouTube to playing games, add funny effects to a live video conference, interact on Facebook together with your contacts or even shop for things online together with your friends or family members.

6rounds comes with an open API and can easily be integrated into third-party websites or services. It can also help you in getting your social networking accounts to build a profile for yourself that indicates your interests, hobbies, music and movie taste etc. When you’re in a video chat you can click a button and a question will be proposed based on the profile of the person on the other end. This could be useful as an ice-breaker when you’re having a conversation with someone you don’t know very well yet – this isn’t great news for parents with crazy teenagers though. It looks like a fine site and something tells me if Google came with something of this sort it would have been a much bigger hit already. Time will tell, as always.
