UTStarcom launches CDM8630 'senior' phone

UTStarcom is coming out with a phone that aims to woo the senior citizens. It is called the CDM8630 and features larger on-screen fonts, a clearly labeled keypad with larger buttons plus a special "In Case of Emergency' directory, which holds special contacts and personal information. It even sports a unique 911 button. TTY/TTD support helps the deaf or hearing-impaired users. Other specs include 262-color, 176x220 main LCD, monochrome external display, highlighted power jack.
The UTStarcom CDM8630 'senior' phone is available with Altel for $20 after a discount and a two-year contract. Verizon is charging $50 without a discount under the same contract.
