Come 2012, you will no longer have any qualms about owning a million cell phone chargers for the zillion phones you own. Pardon the exaggeration, but it surely gets on my nerves as I carry those painfully tangled chargers that tend to make life a living hell. Hark! Hark! The CTIA has announced a new initiative that gives us the warm assurance that everything that will be purchased from the US will have a microUSB port and a 3.5 mm jack (yeah! Headphones are a bloody problem too!).

There will be some opposition to this idea but I think that it doesn’t stand a chance before the advantages of having lesser electronic waste and of course, all the good things that come with a ‘standard’.
