Upcoming Zoosh service will make mobile payments using sound waves
When credit cards were introduced, we really thought plastic money was any given day more convenient than carrying a bundle of bills. The world is now looking at a form of technology that will replace the need to carry any physical form of money. Well NFC wireless payment is yet to take over; we bumped into an upcoming technology that will use ultrasonic sounds to securely transmit info like credit card digits at a short range. Hailed as Zoosh, this one will be mostly driven by software although it would require a speaker and microphone too. In a matter of less than a second, the phone will transmit the ultrasonic code to the receiver. Once the connection is established, it can also be used to exchange pretty much anything be it contact info or payments. It just requires a phone and a designated app to function. The developer of this technology is a start up company by the name Naratte. As reports suggest Paypal has shown their interest in their technology and the company is in now talks with them.
