Unreal Engine demoed on iPod Touch looks ‘Epic’ to say the least

Unreal_Engine_3.jpg iPhone and it's compatriot the iPod Touch have got to be the best platforms for mobile gaming, without a shadow of a doubt. The kind of games designed for these devices from all the big names in the biz are PSP material if not better and the platform is progressing even further these days. The latest buzz is the demo of an Unreal Engine 3 tech demo that was running on a 3rd generation iPod Touch that’s also designed to work on the iPhone 3Gs. The visuals are stunning with a virtual joystick controller and slide movements to control the camera angle and tap-to-fire functionality. This isn’t the final stage though as testing is still underway, but for the hardcore mobile gamer, this news is ‘Epic’. Word is that we could also see the engine running on other mobile platforms as well. I wonder which one, but I’m looking forward to it.
