Universal phone chargers to come to our aid by next year

Keeping in mind all the extra equipment that we carry with us to work, leading cellphone manufacturers have pledged to come out with phones that use a single, universal charger. The companies who have made the pledge include Nokia, Sony Ericsson and Apple. From next year onwards these companies will produce phones that can be charged with this charger. It seems that in the EU alone, there are over 30 different chargers available. It gets on one’s nerves to carry 3 different chargers if you have three phones from different manufacturers. So here’s a rather viable solution to this problem that will reduce the load we carry with us to work and the problem of disposing off these once they stop working without harming the environment.

I hope that they find some good means to use the old chargers and old phones once the new ones take over the gizmo world. Everyone wants to go green these days.
