Taiwan-based memory module maker Transcend Information recently introduced a high-density 1GB miniSD card, and emphasized that the high performance of the card is ideal for handheld applications. Transcend’s 1GB 80X Ultra Performance miniSD card supports a data transfer speeds of up to 12MB/sec. Utilizing a single level cell (SLC) architecture, the card has a data transfer speed 70% faster than a normal miniSD card. The card also comes in 512MB version.
