Toshiba's HD1 HDTV camera is world's smallest

toshiba_hdtv_camera.jpg Barely days after we told you about Sony's HDR-TG1 Handycam as the world's smallest "full HD" camcorder, do we have the news that Toshiba is staking the claim at the title now. Almost the size of a dice, the IK-HD1 weighs 2.3-ounces and is just 1.6 inches square. It has enough room for three CCD chips that can dish out 1080i broadcast-quality color. Toshiba will present the camera this month at the NAB (National Association of Broadcasters) convention in Las Vegas. The device hooks up to a wired control unit that can be situated up to 90 feet away, and is intended for use as a hidden camera on reality shows and the likes.
