
Citizens of the Russian town Chelyabinsk calculated when the satellite QuickBird would cross above their city. QuickBird takes images for Google Earth and Google Maps. There was a rock concert in town, everyone get yellow cape and created a giant smiley face. They wanted to make their town face and it worked as the image is now on Google maps. Google sure gave Chelyabinsk its fifteen minutes of fame.
