Mario has seen a lot of his fans do a bit too much to prove their loyalty to him and his beloved Princess Peach. There have been t-shirts, flip-books, chess games and dolls that are loosely themed around the super hero (of sorts). We’ve also seen something more artistic like this awesome painting thing that reminds us of his heroism. But what it boils down to is this fantastic Michelangelo inspired sculpture of a dead Mario in the lap of Princess Peach. Oh boy, I can really see the theatrics that must have inspired the making of this one.

The whole idea of the La Pieta’s beauty being geekily defiled doesn’t stand any chance of making it to the list of best tributes. Three cheers to the designer Kordian Lewandowski for his awesome idea.
