The Pope encourage priests to use blogs
There’s no doubt that there are more people reading and following blogs as compared to those attending Sunday mass. Pope Benedict XVI knows that well enough and hence, he’s asked priests to use blogs to spread the word of God. He was quoted saying, "Priests present in the world of digital communications should be less notable for their media savvy than for their priestly heart, their closeness to Christ." There may be an Internet connection up there in heaven as well. We’d never know.
Last year the Vatican opened a YouTube channel that went by the name Pope2You. Though the name is a bit out of place, the site helps many get up close with the views of the Pope and also provides a connection to Facebook.
