Thanko’s Sport Micro MP3 Player doesn’t seem like it’ll ‘hold up’ to rigorous sports
Normally I’m quite the fan of Thanko’s products. They’re whacky, innovative and pretty out there but you can’t help but want them. This one though is not one of the better ones. It’s an idea seemingly copied from Bluetooth headsets that also have similar designs. The MP3 player is located in one earpiece (of the in-ear styling) and it has a built on 2.5mm socket that you need to connect a wired earpiece to. That of course goes in the other ear. It’s about 8 grams making it quite light. That’s definitely a good thing since it’s supposed to be designed for sports usage. It has 4GB of internal storage and can read MP3 and WMA file formats. It connects to your PC via a USB that hooks up to the same 2.5m socket.
But here’s what I don’t get, there doesn’t seem to be any support to hold it to your ear. It can’t seriously be expected to stay there while you’re running around kicking a football, or the only exercise you'll get is picking it up.
