Teraoka's new Deli Touch pen places orders automatically

automated_ordering_system.jpg Imagine this, you just touch a pen to the photo of a juicy burger and voila…its in front of you. There is hocus-focus involved but just that the pen is Teraoka's new Deli Touch pen with a scanning sensor (to scan the code) and the photos in the menu have a magnetic barcode embedded that wirelessly transmit your order to the server (hooked to a printer) in the kitchen. On both sides an automated voice announces that an order has been placed. The pen and menu-book style is user-friendly and at one-third the cost of implementing a touch screen order system, is economical.

Teraoka's new Deli Touch pen costs ¥45,000 ($422) for a one-month rental, which consists of 30 pens, server, and printer.
