Tech savvy terrorists used gadgets to carry out attacks in Mumbai

Mumbai_Attack.jpg The Mumbai terror attacks of 26/11 were one of the worst that the city has witnessed so far, as the captured terrorist reveals more details the information obtained is far more gruesome than estimated by anyone. The attackers used sophisticated technology to carry out these horrendous acts over the 3 days that the operation was in session. The terrorists used satellite phones to keep in touch and plan out these attacks, then used GPS navigation devices to steer a boat towards the Taj hotel, all of them were in constant contact with each other via cell/satellite phones. It is noted that they used Blackberry services to be updated on the police status via the internet. RIM's BlackBerry services were recently banned in India for their secure encryption standards.

This was not enough for the assailants; they wanted take credit for the bloodshed that they caused. This was done by sending emails to the local media using a remailer service to mask their identities. The strikes that killed almost 200 ordinary citizens shows how the terrorists are using complex technologies to carry out such hate crimes against humanity.
