Taking the retro hitch is the VPI HR-X1 turntable from TEAC. What makes it really stand apart is the size and the weight. This 52.5-kg or 116-pounds mechanism features a belt driven, 50-mm thick acrylic platter on an air suspension system at 33.3 or 45rpm. It even has a pair of 24 pole, 300rpm AC synchronous motors.

TEAC's VPI HR-X1 turntable will cost ¥2,310,000 or about $19,000 when it goes on sale in Japan in mid-June.

That's a VPI turntable, not Teac. Teac must be their distributor ocerseas.
