Iris, retina, fingerprint and palm scans are almost the thing of the past. If you don’t agree with me then at least these guys at the Yoshinori Hatori Laboratory at the Tokyo Institute of Technology believe it. The new system developed by them retrieves signals created during arm swinging. These help in judging the degree of similarity to a pre-registered swinging pattern and after both these patterns are matched, the system authorizes or unauthorizes you accordingly. The developers say that besides just the swinging movements, various factors such as the length of a person’s arm, muscle structure, holding style, grip, etc.

If its hitting you at the back of your mind as to whether we produce the same hand moments or no, then there’s nothing to fear. The researchers have worked on it and have deduced that we produce the same hand movements all the time and moreover, it’s hard (almost impossible) for anyone to ape it. Feels safer now?
