Study states that 50% doctors use Wikipedia
Though it does draw your eyes to this clump of text and though it manages to raise you eyebrow, on second thought it’s not such a big deal. We may look at it with an accusing thought in our heads, stating that our doctors are incapable, inept and inefficient, just because they wish to cross check if that thing in your belly is an ulcer or a tumor. And that they check it online. In the days gone by, referrals were still used by even the most skillful doctors. The only thing is that they would sift the relevant articles from volumes of medical journals.
Why not use the Internet if it is such an easy medium for information? If anthropologists can visit Wikipedia for information on topics they’re covering then why leave the poor doctors unplugged? I say, 50% is a damn small number.
