South African IT company proves that pigeons are faster than Telkom
Now that we’re at the height of communication using various mediums, both wired and unwired, everything suddenly seems to be pointing at the distant past for inspiration. Take this IT company from South Africa that claims that their pigeon messengers are faster than the contemporary methods of communication there. It’s already well known that the Internet speed in African nations is quite dismal because of expensive setups required and low bandwidth. According to a report a pigeon (called “Winston”!!!) took about 68 minutes to fly 80 km from the office of Unlimited IT to Durban with a data card strapped to its leg. On the other hand, the transfer via downloading took 126 minutes. It’s a pity that Tellom – the company that served the tortoise-paced download – wasn’t available for comment.
