Sony’s uber small HDR-TG5 camcorder comes with GPS, Full HD
The HDR-TG5 isn’t Sony’s first world record holder for being the smallest Full HD camcorder yet. It was preceded by the TG1 which, unfortunately, didn’t have a lot to show for itself besides the size. The TG5 betters its predecessor in terms of an improved interface, more memory and GPS! Surely, it makes it an absolute necessity for globe trotters to have GPS in your camcorder so that you can geotag your images as and when you shoot them. It also supports Navteq maps. It has a capacity to store up to a whopping 16 GB of data. In addition to this, there are advanced image processing facilities and smile shutter technology.
What remains the same from the TG1 is the 2.7-inch touchscreen, video grabs at a resolution of 1920 x 1080 in AVCHD format, 10x optical zoom and a 2.4 megapixel sensor. I bet all these features spread a smile upon your lovely face but the ¥120,000 ($1,217) price tag does well to quickly wipe it off.
