
Sony Japan has announced the XDV-G200 a portable 1Seg TV with a radio. Sony is designating the product as 'the card radio where you can watch TV' and targeting the older generation men between 40 to 70 years. Like the
Bravia XDV-D500 it does not have an annoying antenna as the headphone doubles as an antenna. To keep the costs low Sony has not included onboard memory though it lacks recording it does correspond to EPG functionality so the unit turns off automatically after you have watched a particular program. The mono speaker delivers an output of 250mW. The battery has enough juice for 8 hours of continuous TV viewing or 18 hours of radio playback. The Sony XDV-G200 will go on sale in Japan from April 10th for 30000 Yen ($ 280).
