Flash memory does have its advantages when it comes to speed and reliability but when it comes to capacity it is still lacks behind the traditional hard drive. Sony started selling the Vaio Type U with 16GB Flash memory in mid July but seriously 16GB is far too less. Sony has taken this into consideration and doubled the capacity to 32GB. Along with the Flash memory Sony has also bumped the RAM from 512MB to 1GB.

With the upgraded capacity the Vaio Type U with Flash memory (Zero spindle) starts at 209,800 Yen ($ 1800)
