Sony to develop Compact Flash memory cards

1168443960981.jpgBreaking free the Memory Stick cocoon Sony has decided to grab a bigger pie by venturing into the Compact Flash memory card market. The first product line up will be announced shortly with capacity upto 4GB targetting DSLR camera users. The initial line-up will include CompactFlash Type I cards with 66x and 133x transfer speeds and capacities between 1GB and 4GB. The products will be branded as part of Sony’s α100 D-SLR camera system.


As things are going dont be surprised if Sony churns out HD-DVD players and media and add HD-DVD support to the ailing PS3. The first Sony CompactFlash memory cards will be available later this Spring.
