Sony Sountina glass speakers go mainstream

sony_sountina_1.JPG First announced as a prototype Sony's uber cool and super expensive Sontina speaker have finally gone mainstream. Showcased at the IFA 2008 the 6 foot tall speaker is a single, elegant column, combining glass, leather and room enhancing illumination. It produces a 360 degree pool of sound by vibrating every corner of the organic cylinder which delivers crisp and clear sound. The piece is slated to cost around ¥1,000,000 (about €6,500 / $10,000) though availability is not known yet.
