Sony planning a PSP phone without Ericsson in tow
Sources close to Sony-Ericsson have hinted that the electronics giant does not want the Sony Ericsson division to use its PlayStation brand, after the handset manufacturer presented a pitch to the board late last year. A PSP phone was in the pipeline, but now Sony executives told colleagues at Sony Ericsson that it would only license the PlayStation brand if Sony makes handsets independently, further hinting that Sony wants to walk out of the partnership when it feels it is ready.
